Follow the proceeds.

A clear record matters. This page explains how ticket proceeds, prizes, operating costs and the society's community contribution are reported.

Reporting

Each reporting period shows ticket proceeds, prizes, operating costs and the amount applied to the society's purposes.

How ticket money is used

Where your £1 goes

Where your £1 goes: 50p prizes, 25p to the partner or cause named with each draw, 25p covers the cost of running the lottery (payment processing, the draw, licensing and staff).

The first report follows the first reporting period.

Where your £1 goes

Where your £1 goes: 50p prizes, 25p to the partner or cause named with each draw, 25p covers the cost of running the lottery (payment processing, the draw, licensing and staff).

At least 20% of the proceeds of each lottery goes to the cause. The rest pays only prizes and the reasonably incurred costs of running the lottery.

The split advertised with each draw is the split applied and reported for that draw.

How the figures are calculated

Ticket proceeds are the total paid for tickets in the period, before any deduction.

Prizes are the amounts paid or payable to winners of draws held in the period.

Operating costs are the costs of running the lottery in the period.

The amount applied to society purposes is the sum passed to the society's approved activities for the period.

Each figure is labelled estimate or actual, with its reporting period. Sponsorship and other income are reported separately and are never added to ticket proceeds.
